Natural REMEDIES TO help ELIMINATION OF THREADWORMS

There are many herbal formulas and treatments for threadworms, as a homeopath I suggest selecting the most well indicated homeopathic remedy alongside the following natural additions for best results.

Please see my blog on threadworms to select a homeopathic remedy. Also be aware these are suggestions for threadworms only in the first or second case of worms, if your child or family are dealing with repeated worm infestations or have repeatedly used conventional anti-worm medicines you are likely to need a deeper treatment which requires an individual consultation and prescription.

Here are 4 simple affordable additions alongside homeopathy I recommend for supporting the elimination of the worms.

1. 1 spoon of coconut oil in morning first thing (desert spoon children / tbsp teenagers/adults)

Why? Coconut oil has a unique combination of fatty acids some of which contain potent antiparasitic properties. Lauric acid in particular has been shown to disrupt the lipid membranes of parasites. It also works as a lubricant in the gut increasing the ability to eliminate worms.

2. 1 small cup of clove tea a day

Why? Cloves are anti-fungal, a potent anti-parasitic, anti -inflammatory, anti viral.

3. Reduce or eliminate sugars as much as possible

Why? Intestinal worms thrive off of added sugars (they use glucose to survive and reproduce) and we also need our immune systems and guts to be in optimum condition when deworming so eliminating sugars and reducing carbohydrates is important.

4. Adding fibre to the diet and specifically grated carrot or beetroot once a day to meals

Why? Fibre rich foods promote regular bowel movements and this is essential when deworming so the worms can be eliminated and don’t stay dead or paralized in the gut where they can release further toxins. Grated carrot and beetroot are particularly good at brushing out the intestines as they move through the gut.

There are many other things that you can add to your child and families diet to help with the elimination of worms alongside homeopathic treatment, however the 4 I’ve listed above I have seen to be most effective and are also easy and affordable to implement. Raw garlic, ginger, tumeric, pumpkin seeds are also helpful but the most important thing is to be consistent so be realistic about what you can manage and choose a few things and consume them every day or as much as you possibly can alongside your chosen remedy.
